Through our programs, we have engaged more than 15,000 young journalists with fellowships, opportunities, and training around the world. About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Operations Manager to join our team on a part-time basis (3 days/week). The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our organization, including managing staff, coordinating projects, and ensuring the smooth running of business processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in a leadership role, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Core Responsibilities
● Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization, including managing staff, coordinating projects, and ensuring that business processes run smoothly
● Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity
● Manage and track budgets, including forecasting and reporting on financial performance
● Maintain accurate records and documentation, including employee files, contracts, and financial records
● Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to develop and execute strategies to achieve business goals
● Manage and resolve conflicts and issues that arise within the organization
● Identify and evaluate risks, and develop contingency plans to mitigate those risks
● Provide leadership, support, and guidance to team members
● Maintain a positive and professional work environment
Additional Responsibilities
● Work with our Regional programme leaders to design stellar project reports
● Monitor and Evaluate these projects, providing critical updates and recommendations
● Work with media and NGO partners to collaborate on powerful global media trainings and campaigns
Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field
● 3+ years of experience in a leadership role
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
● Strong organizational and time management skills
● Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
● Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software
