Southeast Asia Media Research Opportunity

We’re excited to share that we have an awesome opportunity for young media personnel in Southeast Asia!

For the next few months, Climate Tracker will be working with journalists from Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand to collectively conduct a Southeast Asia-wide study on how coal and clean energy are covered by the region’s biggest media. This analysis is part of a collaboration with the Stanley Center for Peace and Security.

This is an amazing chance to get cutting-edge online training on Media Research, receive one-on-one mentorship, and gain professional experience with a 3 month paid research opportunity!

Climate Tracker is currently looking for participants with media experience from Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines for our exciting new Media Research opportunity!

You’ll receive two weeks of cutting-edge training and mentorship, where you’ll learn the fundamentals of media analysis, before leveraging your contacts for a national media analysis.

The best students from the course will be selected for a 3 month paid research opportunity to collectively analyze the media coverage of coal and clean energy in the region

The research analysis will be published as a co-authored regional report and shared among leading organizations across Southeast Asia in September.

This opportunity is a great chance to gain free online training to master your media research skills and experience.

Selected participants will work alongside the Climate Tracker team and receive a generous allowance throughout the programme.

You’ll also get the chance to engage directly with some of the biggest environmental and climate change-related organizations, experts, and publications in the region!

Last but certainly not least: Get your work published in both national and regional media reports, with your name printed as a co-author!
