Climate Tracker is on the lookout for great aspiring and already established journalists and communications personnel to join us on a journey into the media landscape of Southeast Asia, as it relates to energy and climate change.

The best students will then benefit from a 3 month paid research opportunity to collectively analyze the media coverage of coal and energy in the region

Next up, the research analysis will be published as a co-authored handbook and distributed to leading publications and organizations in Southeast Asia in September.

 Who are we looking for?

  • We’d love it if you have at least 1-2 years media or comms experience.
  • Research experience and experience in the environmental field is a bonus
  • Must be living in:
    • The Philippines 
    • Indonesia
    • Vietnam 
    • Thailand
    • Malaysia 
  • 23-35 years old when applying.
  • Able to speak, understand, and analyse in both their national language and English
  • People with a full-time job are welcome to apply, given the timing flexibility of the research project!

When’s the deadline?

How do I apply? 

To apply, simply submit a link (through Google Drive or Dropbox) of your CV in PDF format to the Climate Tracker App, outlining your experience and showing that you obtain all the relevant skills needed for this programme. Please also indicate your availability throughout the programme’s timeline. 

What are the language requirements?

We need you to be able to analyze articles, do the interviews, and write a report in both English and your national language (Bahasa Indonesia/Malay/Tagalog/Vietnamese/Thai), when it is required

I have a full-time job… Can I still apply?

Yes! This is an opportunity that can be balanced with other professional engagements, and we always welcome those with working experience.
