Puerto Rico’s mangrove forests have been decimated by environmental destruction and urban expansion along the coast, leaving the archipelago susceptible to climate change’s worst effects. Facing no support to protect mangroves, nonprofits and environmentalists are slowly trying to reforest decimated forests.
