Greta’s done it again. Her message leaves some of the world’s most powerful men uneasy, but she always has a great comeback. It happened with Donald Trump last September, and has just happened again, this time with Brazil’s far-right president, Jair Bolsonaro.
Bolsonaro, which has gain notoriety for his anti-environment agenda, did not like the fact that Greta criticized the killing of indigenous people in Brazil. He said to journalists today:
“What’s the name of that girl? That foreign girl? Greta. Greta already said that indigenous people are dying because they’re defending the Amazon. It’s amazing how much attention is the press giving to such a brat.”
The word Bolsonaro used was “pirralha”. So what did Greta did? She changed her profile bio to just that: “Pirralha”. And Brazilian Twitter is loving it. “Pirralha” already made it to the trending topics and it will likely stay there for a while.
This is the second time that Greta responds in the same elegant way to middle-aged white presidents who try to belittle her. Last September, she also changed her bio to “a young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future” when Donald Trump tweeted that to mock her.
You may like her or not, but you must admit that Greta Thunberg has a great sense of humor.
