Switching to Renewable Energy is the only way we are going to prevent catastrophic Climate Change.
Sadly we are not doing this fast enough.
But over the last 10 years, the costs of renewable energies have dropped dramatically, and they’re now expanding faster than anyone ever thought. In fact, Renewable energy targets are now in place in 164 countries, and this is powering a renewable energy revolution where over 135 GW of renewable energy was added to the global mix just last year. That an 8.5% growth rate not even China’s economy can compete with.
As a result, the world’s economy grew for the first time in four decades without a parallel rise in CO2 emissions. In fact, renewables are well on their way to becoming the world’s top source of electricity in 15 years if countries stick to plans currently on the table.
To learn more about this, and the massive growth in renewable energy investment world wide, we’ll be chatting with Christine Lins, Executive Secretary of the Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century, all about Renewable Energy around the world.
Adding a political spin will also be Sarah Azau, who for the last 8 years has been the Head of Political Affairs at the European Wind Energy Association.
We’ll also talk to Laura E. Williamson, REN21’s head of outreach, for a better understanding on how to re-charge the message of renewable energy around the world.
Communicating these issues can prove difficult, that’s why we want your help you convince your governments that this year marks the end of the age of fossil fuels, as the age of renewables has arrived.
